The flash of color, the mood of light, the exotic taste of a foreign culture; as we travel the world, these are the memories of our experiences that we bring home. My paintings reflect such moments, expressing the richness of our world.
These framed moments of seeing and experiencing are the memories that I share with you. Mexico has become my inspiration, my cultural passion – Its music, color and energy fill my paintings.
I grew up in a family of artists, so a career in art was a given from the time I crayoned color into my parent’s Persian carpet. There is an artistic spirit in each of us!
I received my BA in Fine Arts from UC Santa Barbara, art education at Berkeley, and my MA in education from Azusa Pacific University. I taught advanced placement art at the high school level in California for three decades, where I had the pleasure of guiding thousands of students, and helping hundreds to pursue their careers at major art schools. I have received numerous awards and recognition both in teaching and in shows, and many of my paintings are in private collections in the US and in Mexico. I am thrilled to continue my passions of teaching and painting here in Todos Santos.
